I’d already seen the movies, which I normally don’t do before reading the books. It was hard to picture anything but that. It was targeted to the 6th to 8th grade level, which was a surprise. I assumed it would be high school at least. It was a good story and I’ll keep reading the series but I do think it’s a bit over hyped. Harry gets into Hogwarts, learns of the sorcerer’s stone which grants immortality and wealth, and prohibits Quirrell / Voldemort from getting it. It gets destroyed and they learn Snape does hat Harry, but not enough to want him killed. Mainly because Harry’s dad saved his life back in the day. Hopefully I can get through this series by end of the year.
