Unfinished: A Memoir by Priyanka Chopra Jonas
3.0

I have a lot of mixed thoughts about this memoir. I don't regret reading it and I learned a lot about Priyanka that I didn't know before, but I struggled a little to get through it.

The writing wasn't great and a little all over the place. I felt like she tried a little too hard to be relatable to a younger audience. There were a lot of hashtags throughout the book (more than you probably are thinking), which felt really weird to me to be in a book where hashtags don't mean anything.

I also wish she went a little deeper. She was very surface level when it came to the struggles she faced. She mentioned being bullied in high school, but then immediately skipped over it. The memoir was short, so I wish there was even 50 pages more of deeper thought.

I did learn a lot about Priyanka that I hadn't known previously. I didn't realize just how chaotic her childhood was and how quickly she rose to fame at such a young age. It was also very interesting to read about her culture and her experience going back and forth between India and the United States a lot throughout her entire life.
