I really liked this world and the creatures in it, but I didn’t really like any of the side characters.

This book is told in third person, from Moon’s POV. I liked Moon and how he adapted to new situations. I didn’t like how he couldn’t rely on anyone to support him.

I really liked all the different creatures and the Raksura were really interesting, but I didn’t really like any of the other Raksura. I understood that Moon was new, but he kept proving himself over and over again, and yet when there was something even slightly suspicious happening, they immediately turned on him. It felt like he had no real friends there.

I liked Stone but after the beginning he sort of disappears. I hated Pearl as not only did she constantly make Moon feel unwelcome, she was selfish and it didn’t feel like she put the needs of others above her own. Jade seemed fine but her character wasn’t developed, and she didn’t have a personality. Also, I didn’t see any kind of relationship between Jade and Moon. They never really got to know each other or spent any time together. It felt like they only got together because those were their roles.

There are some things that I would like to know
(such as who was the person Moon thought of as his mother)
but I don’t think that I’ll continue with this series as I didn’t like Moon’s interactions with the others.
