The Handmaid's Tale
by Margaret Atwood
Really interesting read - comparable to Lord of the Flies in style, and with some incredibly powerful feminist commentary on patriarchal structures, first and second wave feminism, and extremism in religion. I found it a quick read, and layered enough that I would read it again. What I did find missing was any feminist commentary on modern racism, but for a brief mention in the last chapter.
