Circe was, I think, the most beautifully crafted protagonist. She was flawed in consistent but intricate ways, you loved her mind, and the ways she wanted to be. You felt her pain, you felt her hope, you felt her genius. If you have any idea about Circe's story it is very self-reflective, so it is extremely character-driven.
Heartbreak pops up early. While the challenges Circe faces all follow a similar theme, they are written from different angles so it does not feel all that repetitive.
I was someone who read "Song of Achilles" and really loved Miller's writing style so I was very excited to read this one as well. As much as I loved that book, I love this one more. and not just because it has a happy ending (if somewhat ambiguous)
My favorite quote is "In a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me."
