The Fall of Gondolin by J.R.R. Tolkien

This was good, and had some really good background and history, but was very dry. I knew it would be before I started reading, and I am glad I did read it.

This book will be liked by Tolkien completists and fans of the research and writing process.

Basically it is the story retold, with the Author's son breaking in and explaining how the story was compiled from notes, found pages, interviews, and father/son discussions. It is interesting because the stories are good, but also because of how "real" the people/places/events of middle earth are to the Tolkiens.
