The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

4.0

First off, how unique is it to read about 4 Octogenarian people solving crimes!!!
I grew up reading the Famous 5 and Secret 7 and this book struck me familiar except for the fact it’s old people solving murders!
The author’s writing style is very distinct & it took me a while to get into it. But once I did, I couldn’t imagine it being written by anyone else in any other way.
What I liked most about this book is the fact that death & murders were discussed so nonchalantly, you could really feel the thoughts people in their 80’s have on death.
The pace was incredible, the characters so unique & complex and I frankly couldn’t have enough of them. They were fun, witty, charming and by the end of the book I was so invested, I wanted to know all about their lives leading up to the retirement home.
You may feel the book has a slow beginning but stick with it, it gets better!♥️
