[Thank you to William Morrow books for an ARC of Take Your Breath Away, available everywhere now].

It's not often that a psychological thriller surprises me but that's exactly what happened with this author's latest book. While Andrew is away on a fishing trip with his best friend, his wife, Brie, disappears. Despite the lack of evidence tying him to the crime, he's naturally considered the prime suspect. Unable to charge Andrew with anything, the case grows cold until six years later, a mysterious woman who looks Brie suddenly re-appears, upending his new life. Struggling to make sense of her re-appearance, he decides to take a closer look into what really might have happened all those years ago. Is it possible that Brie is still alive? Where has she been all of these years?

This was my first foray into the author's work and what a ride it was. I found myself invested in the story early on, eager to know what would happen next. I appreciated the unexpected twists and turns the book took as well. After having enjoyed this one so much, I'm excited to dig into the author's back catalog.
