This is not a good book, this is only the second Tom Clancy's book that I have read and I am rather incredibly disappointed. The most striking thing about this book is that it was published in 2002.
Judging by my all experience of Tom Clancy, I think, I get that Ryan is not a one man army guy that goes around the world and destroys evil before it is done. He is a normal person who happens to work for the CIA. Okay. And leads a normal family life, but why is it that his normal life is described in a way that I want to hurt myself physically ? Why is the description of the normal life is SO boring ?
Look I have read books where the description of the mundane was done on a whole other level.
Now the evil russkies, Jesus, I really have a lot to say about them and the USSR the source of all evil in this world, however taking a look at the current state of affairs in the USA, I will just point my finger at them(USA) and say: 'Yeah, seems about right.'
