The book was mega! It read like a series. Admittedly, it was different than I expected. I thought the focus would be on the best friendship and that it would be even creepier. To the first point, it's just so much more. It's about the whole small town and multiple characters. Lauren still remains the protagonist and I really grew to love her. And other characters.
The ending ... was quite violent. It was quite violent in general. I guess I said I was missing some horror or creepiness, but it's still a dark fantasy book. You shouldn't forget that. Perhaps even a little more violent than other dark fantasy books. I liked the ending. It was a fitting ending for such a book.
I loved the book so much the whole time I was reading it and was excited about every single thing. And I was quite hooked - especially after the first third.
