A Well-Tempered Heart by Jan-Philipp Sendker
3.0

Oooh I don't know. 3.5 more like- some of this book was gripping but the rest entirely lacked the authenticity of the first book! I felt like I was running head first into token plot points and a few trite character epiphanies. So many questions go unanswered for me by the end, speaking of which it left me a bit baffled and unsatisfied. There were some lovely moments but the main character was by no means as likable as in the last book- she annoyed me, frustrated me with her whining and complaints- and the story just not as... I don't know what. It WAS compelling, it WAS poignant. It just didn't have the same magic. And did anyone else think things happened WAY too quickly for her and Thar Thar? I couldn't buy it, felt she wasn't the right one for him too, like she didn't deserve him.
