Pants on Fire by Meg Cabot
1.0

katie ellison is dating a football star and running for quahog princess in her hometown. things look pretty good, but she's actually cheating on the football star and hates quahogs. then a mysterious dude from her past shows up to teach her what's really important. GAG.

dull and repetitive. the main character is a dimwit jerk, yet we constantly have to hear the other characters sing her praises. katie always complains about the "britneys and tiffanys" (ie airheads) who flirt with her younger brother...and yet...katie IS one. the phrase "oh. my. GOD! tommy sullivan is back in town!" was used at least 272,000 times.

the whole thing was made so much worse by the narrator of the audiobook, who seems to think she's doing shakespeare in the park when what this really needed to work was a wry, chatty tone.

meg cabot might want to work on publishing one excellent novel a year, rather than 8 halfassed ones.
