This book was a ride.

I loved the atmosphere, I totally get the hype around dark academia. It rules.
The story touches on some pretty dark topics, so I would recommend checking the trigger warnings, before reading. Still, I adored this story strongly. I fell in love with the characters and their humanity, I loved how thoroughly they were described. I'm so sad about everything they went through, I wish it hadn't gone that way.

I found very interesting the subtle reflection, throughout the entire novel, on evil and immoral behavior. The gray morality of our cast of characters, that leaves you sympathizing with them, even though they did some pretty messed up things.

I'm not one to like books lacking plot, but I actually didn't mind. I have to specify that the first part of this novel is, in my opinion, void of action. This is usually a thing that throws me off, but in this case, I actually enjoyed it.
Needless to say, this book left a strong mark on me, and I don't think I will forget it easily.
