The conclusion to The Folk of the Air and what an ending it was.

Jude has married Cardan and released her controlling bond but now she is banished and feels betrayed.

Was everything Cardan said a lie? I remember a question from Rosie Thorns when she was designing the dust jackets for Illumicrate- “Is the snake important?” The snake is pivotal. Jude needs to make hard decisions in this one, ones that mean she doesn’t get to be with the ones she loves. Holly Black is a master at making us believe one thing only to have everything flipped on its head.
