Reading this book has been a rollercoaster! After the first book I was prepared for a slow beginning but the story picked up right where Empire of the Vampire ended. There was so much happening from the beginning that I felt I had hardly time to breathe or process what I was reading. I was swept away by the story and it was almost impossible to put the book down. I liked the first book but I absolutely loved the second which is unusual as often prefer the first book in a series. The addition of Celene‘s point of view added so much depth to the story and I really enjoyed the chronological order of the retelling of events in the Holy Grail‘s story. About halfway through I suspected that there would be another book in this series and I was right. I can’t believe that after almost 1‘500 pages the story still hasn’t reached the battle between Gabriel and Fabién Voss. Now I‘m (not so) patiently awaiting Book #3…
