Divergent by Veronica Roth

5.0

Addicting and Intense. Following the rise of Tris, this story started rough around the edges with the gray scaled Beatrice who lives in a world of selfless acts. Her class, Abnegation lives by the ideals of selfless deeds, at the age of 16 she endures test to discover which of the fives classes to join. She makes the choice to become Tris, the Ruthless, Brave, and Fearless member of Dauntless. However after choosing this class now she must survive the initiation or risk becoming factionless outside the destroyed Chicago. The chapters end with cliffhangers forcing you to white knuckle one after another until dawn. Veronica Roth created something new with this Dystopic Thriller by creating a hardened character. Rather than Katinss from The Hunger Games, who is too broken and poor me to do anything for herself, Tris is cold, smart and dead set on her agenda. Divergent is a must read!
