The End of Eddy by Édouard Louis

5.0

"Being attracted to boys transformed my whole relationship to the world, encouraging me to identify with values that were different from my family's."
I sit here with my son in the park and he runs around barefoot like the other children. I remember I never liked to run barefoot, I had a fear of getting dirty. Just one of the many flashbacks I had while reading this book. A book that perfectly describes the pain of growing up gay in a straight world with a level of detail I wouldn't allow myself to remember.
Loved every moment.
