I throughly enjoyed this book. It evoked so many emotions in me and the poetic nature of the writing itself and the love within this novel is remarkable. The ending of the novel was like the rest of it— realistic and heart breaking. I didn’t feel great about the state of their relationship by the end of the book but I also recognize that it was true to the time. If I wanted a perfect “happily ever after” ending, this isn’t the book to fulfill that purpose. This book was wonderfully written and I definitely enjoyed reading it, but it isn’t a top read for me or something I would grab again unless I’m in the mood for it.
