Heron Mill Tenebris by K.L. Taylor-Lane

5.0

KL has done it again. Right from the very first page KL creates such beautiful imagery, enthralling you into this incredible world. KL's world building is amazing, she doesn't miss any detail to create such a vivid picture in your mind.
Heron Mill Tenebris is a continuation from Heron Mill, we follow Grace and Hunter again as they navigate parenthood and their all consuming love for each other.
The way KL weaves the inner struggle and demons of motherhood is fantastic, the fears every mother faces, the worry we feel, KL managed to draw it all out in Grace's inner thoughts. As a mother myself I felt connected to Gracie's worries and demons and KL captured it all clearly and perfectly. I love that we see Gracie coming out of her shell more, coming into her own and standing up for herself. I love how she can be so completely herself in front of Hunter, how Hunter sees the true her, the true monster inside her innocent demeanour. These two are incredibly aware of each other that the slightest touch leaves the other trembling.

I loved the fact that KL chose to name this book "Tenebris" Latin for darkness because anyone who knows Gracie and Hunter's story knows these two found each other in darkness, both wielding darkness within themselves , darkness being their safest place, it's all so fitting.

This story was hauntingly beautiful, with such a poetically gothic atmosphere. Fans of gothic romances with characters that thrive in the darkness please I beg you read this duet!
