Story had a promising start, but also had a quick and steep drop-off in entertainment value. It was unfortunately just really, really boring and un-suspenseful, which are obviously not good qualities for a mystery; towards the end I was forcing myself to read out of obligation. (Full disclosure that I have read a lot of Agatha Christie and was able to guess the main elements of the mystery pretty quickly.) In fact the book reads less as mystery and more as buddy-cop story where we follow Antony and Bill around as they pretty amateurishly try to investigate. I didn't mind the two main characters, and they had their funny moments together, but neither were interesting or fleshed out enough to carry the entire story. Even the presentation of the reveal was very anticlimactic: the culprit basically just writes Antony a letter saying here's what happened, and then Antony and Bill just kind of go about their business.
