The Mirror Man by Lars Kepler

Did not finish book. Stopped at 61%.
So this book had me HOOKED! I got pretty far into this and I 100% will be back to finish this. The reason I stopped reading this was because I started to get nightmares. So I decided to give myself a break however I definitely want to know what happens to all these characters and find out what the heck is going on here. This book is fantastic and unique in a genre were a large portion of the thriller books are mass produced with a lot of similarities and feels as if the majority of books are following a template. This author really is a breath of fresh air within the book community in the thriller realm. I highly recommend this book and author if you want something new, refreshing, mind-bending, moments of saying 'wait, what?!' and a book that will have its hooks deep into you.
I am a bit of a chicken at times, I have quite a vivid and active imagination which can go away with the fairies. This book coupled with some movies I was watching around the same time, made my imagination and thoughts go wild, hence I got a little spooked and had some nightmares - which I laugh about now. I highly recommend this book and I WILL BACK TO FIND OUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED!

It is also enjoyable to see a detective character that is a real person, with real problems, grey areas and at times questionable thoughts and actions. Sometimes, I have noticed with detective characters that, some, are written as purely good characters or characters that are not as fleshed out as they could be. This at times makes them feel not quite human, in a realistic way of how real people are deep, complex and multi-layered. Detective Joona Linna however, in my opinion, is a well fleshed out and created character, showing the true complexities of people and the human experience, which is enjoyable to read. It is real!
