You remember trick or treating as a kid and going by that one really generous house with the lady who said you could take whatever you wanted, but you couldn't decide so you just grabbed a big handful? That's The Tricker-Treater.

We've got all kinds of horrific treats here. Supernatural, tragedy, mystery, historic, gothic, holiday, and even a sprinkling of eldritch.

The titular story is a full size bar, followed by a few snack stories, and two little bites of flash. They're not all Halloweeny -- these stories are a little bit of everything. Some are more conceptual images while others are more fleshed out, so there's something for every appetite. Me, I liked the two shortest pieces best (The Mistake House and Moratorium) followed by The Tricker-Treater. The Session was a really fresh story that I think, will be sticking with me for awhile.

Quick reading, spooky and weird -- perfect for the season!
