Twisted Lies
by Ana Huang
I was off my game, all because I'd been busy thinking about someone who had no business occupying my thoughts the way she did. She thought her rent at the mirage was low? That was nothing compared to how she lived rent-free in my f*cking head.
Stella and Christian were the perfect couple to end this series with. I loved them and their story so much!!!
Christian and Dante both being down so bad for these women that they really don't even know lmaooo we love to see it! I love how down bad Christian was, and how hard he worked to win Stella back; the letters!? Ugh, perfection. The way he loves and protects her is just so sweet.
I will say, I didn't really understand his violent tendencies. Like with Alex it made sense in a way, but with Christian? I don't know, it just felt like he was so unnecessarily violent at times and I struggled with reading those parts - it just felt a bit out of character in a way; I could understand him hurting someone who hurt Stella but sometimes it just felt like he was going to extremes he really didn't need to be going to.
Somewhere within that cocoon of mild manners was a brilliant butterfly yearning to break free.
Stella, my best girl fr! She deserves the world. I really find Stella so relatable, with her struggles in both work and her family dynamic; she's someone who from the outside seems like she would have 'the perfect life' but then you look closer and see that she struggles just like everyone else; she's seeking validation from these people she's supposed to love, and I love that we get to see her step into her own and realise she doesn't need anyone's approval or acceptance so long as she is happy with the life she is building for herself. I love that Christian always supports her decisions though, she deserves someone in her corner.
"The day I met you, was the luckiest day of my life. You've always been the brightest part of my world, Butterfly. And you always will be."
"You don't strike me as a guy who believes in luck."
"I believe in everything when it comes to you."
These two. I love them dearly, and that epilogue was just perfection! I love seeing every couple together and the way their lives have turned out, but also the way they're all still such a big part of one another's lives; while this series really is about the romantic couples, I like that it tied in this found family between our four girls, especially in Stella's book. A wonderful end to a wonderful series.
