This book absolutely took me by surprise, the premise was so good! I adored the setting, I loved the danger in the Kingdom of Talin, and the city scene where most of the story took place. I especially loved the deadly games that our characters participated in but most of all I really loved the unique magic system where the contestants enter the games because of their ability to jump between bodies.
It did take me some time to get used to these characters and this world but once I did, the book was a smooth ride from there. The trials were action packed and dangerous and kept me on my toes. The characters were all so different and I loved that. I love that what drove Calla was rage and her need for vengeance and that she will stop at nothing to complete what she set out to do. Austin is one of those characters that you never know if you can trust because they always seem suspicious but most of all, I loved Anton! He was one of those characters that always carry pain with them and that drew me to him immediately. I loved the tension between him and Calla and how pivotal the feelings between are especially regarding the events that happen in the end.
The last 30% of this book had my brain cells going crazy. The angst, the adrenaline, the plot twists!!! Literally blew me away and that ending? Makes me want to jump into the sequel as soon as I can. What a brilliant book!!!
