This is the first book in the Murderbot Diaries which follows a bot that's hacked its system to gain control over its functions. And what does this bot do with its new found freedom?? Use it to watch the hit drama, Sanctuary Moon, of course.

I don't normally read sci-fi, but I've read reviews that said this is a good introduction to the genre. And I can confirm that! There were layers after layers of mystery, suspense, and shocking discoveries as the crew rushes to find out who's out to sabotage their mission.

Martha Wells was able to get me attached to Murderbot in 150 pages. I loved seeing the crew members slowly get accustomed to Murderbot's presence and vice versa.

I highly recommend the audiobook for this series, which was only a 3 hour listen. Kevin R. Free IS Murderbot.

I've heard the Murderbot Diaries only gets better, so I'm excited to read them all! All Systems Red is a sci-fi novella with elements of mystery, thriller, and comedy. But best of all this has an awkward 'murderbot' just trying to protect its weird humans.
