Not the best in the series so far. Feels like the plot advanced close to nothing, there wasn't much world building and not a lot of character devemopment either. The whole book seems to be an excuse to assemble the crew for following books. I thoroughly enjoyed it don't get me wrong, but it does feel a bit like filler.

There are still a couple narrative "detours" or "tricks" thoughout the book, which I love (probably my favorite thing about the series), but less than in the previous novels.

Dunno if I'm missing something but I don't get the hype for Geralt from so many people. Imo pretty much every other character from the main cast is written better and is overal more interesting. Geralt feels like Sapkowski wanted him to be this super deep dude but to me he just comes of as obtuse, shallow, and pretentious at times. He supposedly noticed it himself in this book, so at least in part it is intentional, however he didn't really change much after that.

I enjoy a LOT more following Ciri. Her adventures are more fun and, although they don't tend to advance the politics too much, they are the basis for worldbuilding as it regards to magic. She was missed in this book.
