This was a fun nonfiction book worth reading if you are interested in cults or how any organizations or companies can be manipulative. I would have enjoyed the book more if I hadn’t studied cults or extremist groups because this book is more introductory. That being said, it’s not fair to say an author should change a book just because I, as an individual, am not the target audience. Montell’s linguistic analysis is really interesting and I enjoyed her chapters on MLMs and fitness culture very much.
