Double Take by Lynette Eason

4.0

I absolutely loved this psychological thriller! Its great pace kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing! Loved the element of surprise and not knowing what was coming next. Each puzzle piece fit together so well by the end, I kept saying I should have seen it coming but was glad I did not.

As a reader who reads a lot of romantic suspense, it takes a lot to surprise and entertain me. Eason did a fantastic job of doing both. This story offered varying levels of intensity, a few harrowing moments that had me holding my breath and was well written.

I thoroughly enjoyed the main characters, and while I was hoping for a bit more romance than the typical “can’t-enter-a-relationship-because-I-have-to-keep-her-safe” thread, I still loved the dynamic between the love interests and their character arcs. Each overcame some pretty big obstacles. They were relatable, deep and authentic. There were solid threads of faith, family, brokenness, restoration, friendship and love. There were also some sweet, lighthearted moments that made me smile. Overall, I had all the feels during this new release and enjoyed it immensely!

Content and Trigger Warnings: PG, Clean. Mild tones - attempted murder, self-defense shooting, kidnapping, PTSD, hoarding, emotional abuse, stalking, mention of suicide.
