Her name is unimportant. All that matters is that she will become one of the four Saints of Haven. The elders will mark her and she’ll join her sisters against the evil power that lives beneath the mountain, an evil that’s killing the villager men. She will also rid her family of her mothers shame. She will ascend. And she’ll keep her secrets safe - how a white eyed beast follows her or the faceless grey woman she keeps seeing. She’ll have to keep her secrets to save her village.

Extasia pulled me in right off the bat. Legrand has a way of really capturing your attention from the beginning. Hooks you in so you have to read to the end, or it’ll nag at you to know what happens. Suffice to say, I enjoy Legrands writing overall. Sawmill Girls is one of my faves and Furyborn was fantastic. Extasia was a solid horror YA read.

The mixture of heavy religious references and horror elements was quite the execution with this title. I was unsettled and intrigued. The main characters were complicated with a range of layers to them. I really enjoyed the developments.

A bit of a mix of The Handmaid’s Tale, The Craft and The Project for me. Heavy on religion with cult vibes. Creepy and strange but hopeful overall. Thank you @hccfrenzy for sending an advanced copy my way, 3.5✨!
