I first read this in 6th grade, and many parts of it had stayed with me, so I was curious to give it a listen. I really did remember so much so well--honestly if I ever had to get a pack of wolves to accept me as their own, I would've been A-OK apparently! But the whole second half had completely dropped from my memory, and it was and interesting glimpse into life in Alaska. I read it immediately after Barbara Kingsolver's Flight Behavior, and it seemed I was on a "environmentalist" series!
