Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder

slow-paced

4.0

Honestly,  I don't really know what the f*ck I just listened to. But I liked it! I really really liked the transformation and process she went through as she came into her own. I especially liked the theme and consciousness of feminism and the role the patriarchy plays on her role as a mother. I am not a mother, so I couldn't personally relate in that regard but I understand in a removed kind of way. I found it strange at first but then came to enjoy that they didn't have actual names other than Nightbitch, the mother, the boy/child, the father/husband.

Overall, I may not be the target demograohic for this book. It's pretty conceptual and abstract. But I still quite enjoyed it!
