Manhunt by Gretchen Felker-Martin
4.0
Felker-Martin's take on a Y the Last Man-esque apocalypse is so visceral that you can feel like you're tagging along with her characters. The premise is interesting, the descriptions are so well done, and the characters are fully realized. I ended up feeling so much for poor Beth and wanting to see what'll happen to Fran that I found myself plowing through it despite the graphic violence inflicted on these women and lone man Robbie.
The parts that I found myself skipping through, though, were a lot of the sex scenes as they started to clog the book towards the end. Some showed connections between the characters () or gave character development and showed another side of them (), but it grew to be gratuitous and something I glossed over after a while.
That said, her TERFs were fantastic villains and gave a complex view of what could happen to society after the end of men. Likewise, the characters in the Screw showed another facet and plausible scenario.
