This is a fantastic critique of White Women Syndrome specifically in the literary community, but also in the world in general. The main character is not meant to be loved, she’s complex and in the culmination of the novel learns nothing but how to change a story to fit her own narrative. The characters are rich, problematic, and perfect cases of the ways whiteness is constructed and maintained.
