Phewwww! I'm glad I'm done with this book. I'm confused. I hate it and love it at the same time.

I hate it because of Strane and the fact that Vanessa's story is similar to stories of a bunch of young girls' stories which before reading this book I didn't have any idea how a young girl could be trapped in a situation like this with a figure of authority sometimes without even realising it themselves or how said figure of authority could take advantage of their chosen victim and manipulate them as they please.

After reading it, I definitely know a lot more about how teachers can easily be abusive towards their students whether it is physically or mentally. Abuse is abuse, wathever the kind.

I don't have children but I feel like if I had, I would have a talk with them today about healthy relationships and boundaries with teachers/partners. It's seemed like an obvious thing to me but I now know the lines can be blurred easily by very manipulative people.

And this is why I love and recommend this book. You have to be aware snd mentally prepare that it is a though and unsetteling read though.
