True Letters from a Fictional Life
by Kenneth Logan
This was good! I didn’t get super invested in the romance, but it was pleasant, and I really liked James a lot as a character, and there some really nice moments. The scene where he tells Hawken about his crush on him at the beginning made me cringe but in a good way? And I loved how Hawken handled his confession. Their friendship was just really great. I also loved all of James’s letters. The family stuff also really worked for me. I really don’t have any complaints about this, and the only reason I’m not rating this higher is because while I really enjoyed almost everything, I didn’t get super sucked in or invested in the story, and I also kept mixing up the details between this and Draw the Line, which has some similarities story-wise and which I read right after this book, which means it didn’t stand out enough for me to remember it strongly. But it was still really lovely overall!
