Tongue-in-Cheek: The Funny Side of Life
by Khyrunnisa A.
Tongue in the cheek by Khyrunnisa A is a light read taking us through her various experiences in life. Written as short chapters, divided into sections based on the experience I thoroughly enjoyed and related to this one.
From the scary experiences at the dentist( don't look at me Teenu and Avanti) to the difficulties of having a unique name endlessly butchered the author showed a pleasant and delightful take on life.
Life in a small town is mostly mundane, you know everyone and what is happening to everyone. From the judging relatives to helping neighbours, it is an experience in itself. The little pleasures at home, tending to garden , sometimes finding a snake as well(I know right!) to the never ending wait for the Lpg cylinder to come home hoping you have not missed the delivery! All the stories made me so nostalgic.
If you are looking for a light and humorous read, this will amuse you. I look forward to more work by the author now.
