The Family Upstairs by Lisa Jewell
5.0

I enjoyed reading this book, only took me a couple of hours to finish the entire thing. The storyline was packed with interesting characters and multiple subplots that I had to keep reminding myself who was who and where it was taking place. I still haven’t decided if I pity Henry Jr. or just have the urge to throw something at him. I kept going back and forth deciding if he was “good” or “evil”. I adored the character Lucy. Her strength and love for all her children was definitely shown throughout the book. Libby appeared to be the most “normal” however her backstory is anything but that. Fitz, the dog, was one of my favorite characters. He was like an emotional support animal while reading scenes that were intense or difficult to get through. It’s a good book to recommend to someone who wants to escape for awhile and delve into a story about a dysfunctional family.
