Tunnel 29: The True Story of an Extraordinary Escape Beneath the Berlin Wall by Helena Merriman

5.0

WHOA WHOA WHOA THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE. Right as the Berlin Wall was being built a group of people got together and decided to build a tunnel under to help East Berliners escape. And an American film crew got it all on tape! If you’re new to non-fiction this is a great gateway book…very suspenseful, easy to understand, very engaging, lots of interesting nuggets to digest. Early Cold War era Berlin is not something I’m well versed in but I need more after reading this one.
