yozo thought he was so different from others and he was the only one who suffered worse but almost all of us yozo in someway.
we all wear masks and show the world something we're not. we make ourselves unhappy just because we want to fit in so badly.
so many valid, relatable points were made in this book but also so many things are fucked up.
Yozo is fucked up, Dazai Osamu was so fucked up man like the double suicide in the story? he had already attempted it in real life with his wife once but survived and then wrote about it in this book, and then the man died by drowning with his wife?
he needed help. i wonder if things could've been different had he received the proper help.. Yozo and Dazai both.
or maybe life is just hopeless.
