I'm enjoying the story itself, I've been binging this series with no problem. I just REALLY wish we saw more character growth rather than have them just suddenly change miraculously.

At 16% in the book, it says about Hendrick, "I didn’t think he had expected to fall in love with me and his reluctance stung in the mate-circle like a thorn." However, nowhere in the previous two books or even the beginning of this one gives us any inclination that Hendrick has actual feelings for her. Even when they bonded, it didn't seem like a romantic moment. He just took the place of one of the other guys because her succubus side couldn't harm him.
Later on, it says he looks at her with a look of adoration (and smugness), but I still felt such a disconnect there. When did things begin to change? It just... happened.
I feel similarly with Orion, as well. He was fighting the bond and went to Olympus to try and break it somehow, but when she ended up in heaven, he was suddenly gung-ho about it? Clearly, the discussions he had up there before she showed up changed his mind, but we don't SEE the progression he made. He just suddenly decides he's fine with her. These things bug me in the book. They're just suddenly different. Same personalities, but suddenly open to being with Lily and possibly even loving her. While I generally prefer multiple POV in my books, I haven't minded the single POV in Fortune Academy. However, perhaps if it WAS multiple POV, we'd have been able to see the guys' growth and how their minds work. I just don't feel connected to the guys at all because of this.

Anyway, all of this aside, I'm enjoying the story, so I'm off to book #4!
