The Art of Theft by Sherry Thomas

4.0

I took a break from Lady Sherlock for a couple months to read other stuff, and was excited to dive back in! As usual, the plot mechanics are dizzying and the character development is satisfying. This novel stands in contrast to the first three books in a couple ways. I appreciated that the central mystery was theft, as opposed to yet another grisly murder. There are also new social themes or commentary introduced centering around colonialism and social class.

My one quibble with The Art of Theft is that the plot setup relies on a couple of circumstances that strain credulity..... the crime world is small, but is it really THAT small?
