#all in all a good read/listen
#the audio book sucked BALLS at first but
i got into it (besides the god awful scottish
accent)
#needed more bunny based content - a cult
enthusiast
#loved the relationship between sam & her
goose friend even tho i can't stand pretentious
fucks like that irl
#there was also a satisfying Mean Girls esque
overlap in the nastiness of both her friend
groups
#the winter break arc was laggy asf but
necessary to hammer home some themes
about community and survival and reinforcing
sam's character
#that bitch do not grow until the lastttt leg of
the book
#i still think reading sam as trans slays but her
actual sapphic nature is very much so There
and i enjoyed it ... kinda
#there was a bit where it felt like being kicked
n the clit as a queer femme but yknow it was
vital to furthering the narrative so FINE
#i think every character was well utilized and
some better than others
#the prose could get to be a bit much n2m
i hate dark academia in which someone's a
struggling writer bc like
#not only are u projecting here but u are also
hitting very close 2 home
#make like rina sawayama and STFU!
#the pop culture references were both
overbearing and utterly entertaining
#he looked like donald glover" after finding
out these were all preppy hollister dudes was a
GAG
#also the cult being twee millenial trust fund
babies is soooo 2012 tumblrina core
#this novel was just really fucking fun
