I will recommend this book for children 10 years old or older. I can tell you, this book is rich. From the characters, setting, and plot; it is hella good for children. The vocabularies? It is easy so that non-English-speaking country children definitely can enjoy this book.
The climax is a bit sour for me, but for children? Of course, it will be spectacular! The censorship for the hell of war is good; at least, it isn't gruesome enough and won't affect their emotional growth. (I asked myself: how can the plot be cut down like this? They omit the details of war! But at that time, I forgot this book is for children).
I like this book and maybe will read it again after my child turns 10.
