I wish I could adequately explain how this book is not only about immigration and displacement and war but about the growth and humanity of a meaningful and heart-tugging partnership. Relationships and reaching for understanding and connection while also growing and experiencing trauma. Just enough magical realism and gorgeous prose to elevate this to something even bigger than the blurb on the back could say. This will stick with me.
