Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King
5.0

Really hard to decide on a 5 or a high 4 for this one. What a book though. So far it's my 3rd favourite from King and it's due to the fear and also laughter it can conjure. Dolores is a great protagonist and the book being written in such an interesting structure definitely works to its advantage. I love Vera too and it's heartbreaking really, never thought I'd be so upset by her after how she begins. Repetition of action and scenery works really well to create an atmosphere, also Joe's death is a perpetual reminisce in my mind - same as Selena's awful treatment received. Selena's rape and allurement case is extremely disgusting I can't stand Joe and I didn't feel sad for him in any way.
