So lots of triggers in this book. It did have some good smut and it made an attempt at a plot line. All about a religious church and its members. It has CA, SA, misogynist and every cis white male toxic stereotype there is. The fmc is trying to become the first female bishop, which of course does not go down well.  In order to "protect" her the mmc, stalks  and kidnaps her. I would say she develops Stockholm Syndrome, but very quickly she becomes prepared to kill.
Now as a smutty book it's OK, I mean the smut was good but a bit repetitive. There are discussions to be had whether it was cnc or just pure nc. And the author did try for the shock factor.  The plot against the church really took hold in the last third. But it was made more convoluted than it needed to be with the mmc, withholding information from the fmc. It just fell flat.  I would not recommend as a dark romance book, unless you had exhausted everything else in the genre first.
