Out of the mundanity of everyday things, Jason Reynolds and Jason Griffin have made a beautiful book of words and art and three deep breaths.  Reynolds’ effortless poetry cut out and Scotch-taped to Griffin’s wide ruled moleskine canvas create the ultimate approachable art piece for today’s young readers.  Touching on the endless cycle of bad news, violence towards BIPOC, and COVID, this book is a talisman for connection, ringing in a new year that will hopefully be better.
