The Moon Dwellers by David Estes
4.0
Okay I have to start by telling how freaking much I LOVED the basic plot, like, humans living underground, in CAVES? Are you SERIOUS? I've always loved this kind of setting and the whole idea was very appealing. I'm also head over heels for the cover, it's just so beautiful!
If there was a book with an amazing portrayal of friendship (bromance, in this case), this book is definitely it. I loved Tristan's and Roc's relationship, I rarely read books with boys having such strong friendships as these two do and it was just perfect. Roc was overall my favorite character by the way, along with Tawni. And Elsey! I love having badass little kids in books. I really do.
Honestly, Tristan's and Adele's romance didn't really gain my sympathy, especially because I'm not really fond of these love-at-first-sight type of stories, but I was totally rooting for them. I loved that we could read the events from both perspectives, even though sometimes there was absolutely no difference between the two and I had to go back to remind myself which character's POV I'm reading. Still, this way we could get to know a little bit of both chara's past and background stories are really what get me started.
I loved the fight scenes, they were pretty detailed, even though sometimes I was slightly grimacing at how easily our heroes defeat the bad guys (that's overally one of the flaws of this book in my opinion, the fact how "lucky" the main characters were when it came to dangerous situations) and I especially loved the.
I'm definitely going to read the next book when I get to it, I'm interested in finding out how our babies' stories are going to end and more about the world itself/the realms and I'm also anticipating more of David's amazing writing skills!

cannibal subplot, I think that was a REALLY great plus to the story.I'm definitely going to read the next book when I get to it, I'm interested in finding out how our babies' stories are going to end and more about the world itself/the realms and I'm also anticipating more of David's amazing writing skills!
