I really did enjoy the story. The ending was extremely unsatisfying for me, personally. Its disappointing, but I think the hope that people who are in a similar situation feel can be dangerous. Sometimes it's best to not feed into that wishfulness too much.  The ending was probably necessary as not everything is happy in life. But still an unsatisfying ending and I'm not sure if ill read the second book.
