Double Booked by Lily Lindon

File this under: books I wish I had read when I was younger.

Gina is torn between her comfortable, calender regimented life with Doug and the excitement of exploring her unfolding bisexuality with her new lesbian band: Phase.

I'm pretty sure I was in university before I read a book with an openly gay character in it. Having access to this book that explores the difficulty of finding and understanding yourself, that balances the difficulties of coming out with light humour and heart, would have made a real difference to me and I'm sure countless others.

While romcoms aren't my usual thing (unless I'm specifically by a pool in a hot country), I really enjoyed this book from my sofa in rainy Margate. Who hasn't felt torn by change and big decisions? In the end, though, choices have to be made, or the universe will end up deciding for you...

If you're a fan of British romcoms and are part of/ an ally of the LGBTQIA+ family, this one is for you!

Thank you Head of Zeus for the ARC
